ALAMO BOWL - INCREDIBLE FINISH!Alamo Bowl = awful officiating! But what an incredible ending with Michigan lateralling the ball EIGHT times on the final play of the game to try and score for the win! Unfortunately, they fell 14 yards short of the mark.
I think that game is living proof that College Football is fixed, I wonder if the sun belt
crew was on the phone with the Spilatro brothers in vegas? Good grief!
One of the worst officiated games I have ever seen! The officials have the new technology provided for them to review any questionable plays--the two plays that Michigan had to use their time-outs to get "urge" a review were by far acceptable by the NCAA review credentials. This is what the review system is for, not only to challenge poorly-called plays, but to give the officials a "third man," essentially. It's a near-perfected source of technology. Abusing this privilege is unacceptable.
The pass-interference in the end zone, in the middle of the 4th, was not called. How much more obvious, more blatant, can a pass interference play get? And, the end of the game. Nebraska should have been given a personal foul for exiting and entering the playing field before the final play was over. Remember, a game cannot end on a defensive penalty. This would mean Michigan would have had the ball on or about the 10 yard-line with one more opportunity. No flag was flown; the officials walked off the field as if nothing happened. Now, don't get me wrong--Nebraska deserved to win this game. Michigan missed too many opportunities to score and execute. Fumbling and poor decisions lead them to their sudden death. I feel that some certain officials will be talked to over the week regarding this game. Go Frogs! Pony Up!
C-USA=CDOA? What is that supposed to mean? TCU played only two or three decent teams all year and they lost one of those, to the team that finished down the pack in C-USA. Who was that? Mountain West was a joke this year.
I might add that not only is MWC not going to be "invited to the BCS", (why would the pigs at the BCS allow that), but the Big Least is likely to lose their automatic bid by 2007-8.
By removing the BE, the BCS can be 'generous' and offer one school from one non-BCS (which would now include the BE) each year access to one of the five bowls (expanded from four) in the new step up that is coming. What a deal. And we should be grateful? The Frogs left CUSA for no reason and hurt all their student athletes by forcing all sports (revenue and non-rev.) to travel to the Pacific and Mountain Time Zones. Dad, Mom, fans, and students of TCU, perhaps a game or two can be watched on late night television. One word: hubris
The BE will be allowed to stay at the trough because they need the 8 schools to continue to vote against a playoff system. They have 66 Division one votes (including ND) vs. 58 votes. If the BE were kicked out of the BCS, they would instantly align with the left outs and vote for a playoff in Division 1. That is also why the MWC or CUSA will not take the place of the BE (8 mouths to feed vs. 10 or 12 mouths to feed). In other words the BE is the cheapest bribe they have to pay to keep things the way they are. They also have a cushion if another six teams move up to Division 1-A in the next few years. If they need to add teams to keep their majority they will do it on a piecemeal basis. BE, PAC 10 or Big X can add a team or two without much problem.
BCS MonopolyOld Article, funny quote from Don Haskins (now going to CU)

I disagree. If you watch the end of the play, you will see a handful of Michigan folks (coaches, trainers or something) on the field as well pretty close to the action around the 20 yd line. Although they were fewer in number than the entire Nebraska team, if you flag Nebraska you would have had to flag Michigan as well. I have no interest in either team, JMHO.
...I have a vision...God, I hope it comes true!
