Watch out Frogs, the Big 12 is hot

Postby Sam I Am » Sat Dec 31, 2005 11:12 am

I concede that a Frog win would help the MWC challenge the Big East for BCS inclusion. BUT the Big 12 is on a roll in the bowl games. Iowa State is not one of the big boys, but they can play good football. Since pride goeth before a fall, TCU is putting too much emphasis on the value of this game for their future. At least the Frogs have solved thier QB problem, and that does give them a chance in today's game.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

a frog win or loss will have no impact whatsoever on anything related to the BCS. It is about money and cartels, not win/loss.

It is inconsequential whether a victory helps the MWC. The BCS schools gain nothing from adding another conference. Subtracting the Big Least is more probable, leaving the pigs a five way spilt and allowing one team from the best of the rest (BE, CUSA, MWC, MAC and Sunbelt) to get an automatic bid in the expanded five BCS Bowl set-up, which is coming.

I suppose a TCU win over Iowa State, coupled with a few key losses by higher-ranked teams, would make SMU's WIN OVER FROGGIE HIGH even more impressive. But I've got to admit, I'm a huge Cyclone fan today. 17 straight points by ISU -- go 'Clones!

I'm going to throw up -- Frogs just went 80 yards for the go-ahead touchdown, and they dragged that stupid Zamboni to Houston.

Nice clip of SMU's win over TCU on the Houston Bowl just now, showing PB getting the Gatorade Bath, too! I LOVE IT! Announcers keep mentioning that if TCU had beaten SMU then they'd be undefeated and probably going to the Sugar Bowl...

Congrats Frogs, you made SMU look even better

The "but for SMU" tag line about TCU is the best publicity we have ever gotten post-DP. It was nice to beat TCU is basketball this week too. I only hope 2006 is as good for SMU over the Frogs as 2005 has been.

I was at Grapevine Mills the other day with an SMU t-shirt on and an old guy came up to me and said "SMU! That's the only team that beat TCU all year." Turns out the guy played for TCU in 1945, and said that SMU "deserved the Skillet this year" and "flat out outplayed the Frogs." But you could tell he wanted the win :D
