Notre Dame's Charlie Weis won the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award today. My question: why?
I know it's a nice story, and they had a good year, and they're in a good bowl game, etc., but how many good teams did they beat this year? I heard on the radio that they beat two teams with a winning record this year.
I don't like Joe Paterno, and I don't think he deserved it either -- I see him as nothing more than a figurehead at this point -- but he deserved it more than Weis did. Personally, I think it should go to Mike Shula (Bama) or the guy at UCLA.
