Notre Dame bias?

Notre Dame's Charlie Weis won the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award today. My question: why?
I know it's a nice story, and they had a good year, and they're in a good bowl game, etc., but how many good teams did they beat this year? I heard on the radio that they beat two teams with a winning record this year.
I don't like Joe Paterno, and I don't think he deserved it either -- I see him as nothing more than a figurehead at this point -- but he deserved it more than Weis did. Personally, I think it should go to Mike Shula (Bama) or the guy at UCLA.

There is no more difficult and demanding college football coaching job than Notre Dame. Charlie took an average team and remodeled the players stars into a very competitive team.
Michigan and Tennessee may not have been at their strongest, but Notre Dame continues to pursuit the strongest schedule of any team. Charlies is the real deal. And Brady Quinn absorbed the Patriot's offense in less than a year.

Demanding yes, difficult I don't know - there is a huge built in recruiting advantage and tons of bucks rolling around everywhere - I'm sure Bennett would love to have a job so"difficult".
One thing you always know about ND, they will always be ranked higher then they should be. They are very tough at home however, I would guess they cover the spread 9 times out of 10 at home. I think the reverse is usually true when they play tough teams on the road, so I would bet on Ohio St. today.
