The froggies are talking like we are their 12th game next year.

I would love to trade Tech for TCU. I still want to play the easy W's on the schedule that are there.

They are wrong. Unless something has changed that I am not aware of. Our opponents are set in stone.

spread the cupcakes out-drop one - and add TCU. BTW it is no certainty a victory over a Division 1AA school will count toward bowl eligibility in 2006-that has yet to be determined with the 12 team schedule. Drop Sam Houston. Anybody that doesn't want to play TCU over Sam Houston State Monument is a Dork.

Just once I want to be able to interject into a football conversation with the people I work with that SMU is currently 3-1. I don't care if we play Yosemite Sam University, Buffalo, Duke, or any other cupcake to get there.

I-AA wins do count toward bowl eligibility next year. At least for 2006, it was decided as part of the same round of votes that allowed the 12th game. Now in future years, that may change, but not for 2006.

We start 3-1, it will be the best start since 1992, which was a very good year for me. Very good. Very, very good. Good times.

Nothing has changed. We still got Tech, North Texas, Sam Houston State, and Arkansas State on the schedule for next season

Didn't you read the part about how anyone who has an opinion different than that of Mr. Eloquent is a dork?

it has not been decided if those wins will count when a team goes 6-6 in a 12 rather than 11 game season w/o a winning record and 5-6 against Division 1A. Saw Gil Lebreton make that point just days ago. And I repeat ANYONE who too frightened to play mean ole TCU is an embarrassment to this school. We have played for 90 years you pansies are trying to duck them just so you can back into a bowl game. I'm calling it like I see it-this school is not made up of the MEN it used to be.

Good god, lighten up, Francis. Quit calling out people you don't know. You've got the worst case of "back in my day" disease of anyone I know of, but did you play? Coach? Stop acting like you were in the trenches with Forrest Gregg.

Totally agree WildHorse. Out of a bunch of posts, one person said something that he would like to be 3-1 no matter who we play. I for one would love to see TCU on the schedule every year since they ducked away from us leaving the conference.

What does it matter? Can't have an opinion otherwise?

1. I read every Lebreton column, I don't remember that. I went back and looked online and gave up mid-November. If it was before that, find it.

2. Actually, I want to be 4-0. I want to beat the cr@p out of UT, USC, ND and Penn State. But that isn't going to happen. That being said, I have and will always think the way we have scheduled in the past is STUPID. I'd love to play TCU every year. But I have no problem playing the Arkansas States of the world either. And I can find a post of yours saying so, too.

3. On the same day the NCAA voted on the 12th game, they also voted to allow a school to count a I-AA win toward bowl eligibility every year. The only issue is whether a winning season (not merely 6-6) is required for bowl eligibility.

The board also adopted a proposal allowing I-A teams to reach bowl eligibility by counting a win against a I-AA opponent every year, effective for the 2005 season.
