I saw at least a dozen Kansas State shirts in the crowd tonight, from fans I assume came out to support Coach Bennett. What a loyal bunch of fans you are.
And, I might add, I saw many of them at the END of the game. Which is more than can be said for many of our own fans.
Come out and watch us shock Texas Tech next week.
AND EVERYONE STAY THE WHOLE GAME!

Of course you would. You aren't even bright enough to spell 'they' correctly.
Honestly... it was the coach's first game here and the quarterback's first game at the college level. Give them both a break.
Plus Navy has a weird option offense that we won't see often--Rice is about the only team we'll play that uses it. It's not easy to play against when you're not used to it, and though Bennett probably could've prepared them better for it, he's already accepted the blame. And hopefully, he's learned a lot to prepare for the Rice game.
At least give ol' Phil a season before you start calling for him to be gone. He's done plenty for PR here, he's been a real class act, and he's impressed me ever since he was hired. I figure we owe him at least that much.

Sam, surely you don't call yourself a PonyFan, do you?
You should be ashamed

I've heard on other BBSes from some KSU fans that were there. They, like many hold Bennett in high regard and only wish the best for SMU under his guidance. Many believe or hope that Bennett comes back to KSU when Snyder retires, and at current I'd have to consider him in the top 2 or 3 candidates when that comes.
SMU has a long mountain to climb to come back and be a great team and a great program. It will take a lot of investment from the players, coaches, adminstration and most of all from the fans. I hope the turnaround comes sooner than later, but I also know that a strong foundation takes time. It could take 3 or 4 years before you see real progress at SMU, though I hope you see signs the next year or two.
Hang in there and keep your heads up. Good things will happen in time.
Take Care,
Sam S.
PS - I came by and read the "best burger" thread a month ago. I'll have to look it up again. I'd give you a few nominees myself, but they are all in eastern Kansas. To be honest, I kind of wish I could be on this culinary quest with your other regulars. I'm sure I could feel the arteries hardening and the stroke coming on, but I figure it would be damn will worth it in the end.

It's pretty cool they would come out and support Bennett...it's not like this guy was a head coach there...he was a DC, could you imagine SMU fans following Coach Schuman (our DC last year) and rooting for his team. Not in a million years. Welcome...to our new K-State friends and family....we have an awesome coach here (finally) and I am excited about the things to come!

For the record, Coach Schumann's Tulane team won last weekend, holding a rather explosive offense from Southern (La.) to 19 points. They're not a great team, but they can score in a hurry - Coach Schumann's going to do well at Tulane.
