Couple of observations from Rose Bowl

Could not believe how BAD the defense was for USC. Way too soft...recievers were open all night. Our Mustangs woudl have put on a better defensive show last night. Not sure how USC went undefeated....but also shows how Fresno ST. and Notre Dame almost beat them.

Heard how Mack "expects Vince to come back for his senior season". When is the last top player from Texas to "come out" early for the NFL? How long will it be until Vince gets a "summer baseball contract"?

I thought the same, very unimpressed with USC's D. Where were their linebackers? They started a true freshman at corner. And one of their safeties looked like a midget out there.

Their best LB from a year ago (Lofa Tatupu) is with the Seahawks now. Didn't realize how good he is until this year, when he was great in Seattle and when USC showed how much it misses him.

SC's linebackers have been suspect all year. For the middle part of the year they played two true freshman linebackers...both will be outstanding with a little more seasoning.

Mack hasn't lost anyone to the NFL early yet, and I'm afraid that streak may end with Vince Young. As a Texas fan and a fan of college football, I'm hoping Mack can convince him to stay another year.
