FIVE turnovers! Looked like a Cavan-coached team.

Tate Wallis hit Billy Ford over the middle, it looked like he hit him right between the numbers, and Ford dropped a crucial third-down pass.

Coaches have to decide if the possibility of Jonas breaking a long return is worth the potential of him fumbling and muffing a punt.

We had zero pass rush, especially from the defensive ends. And they were overmatched when Navy ran to the outside. How good would Markus Pratt have looked in #56 instead of in his coaching uniform?

Very poor tackling by our defense, other than Adami, Croy and Viloria. How many times did Navy guys run through tackles by Ruben Moodley and Jarrian James? They looked like they were waving at the Navy guys on the way by all night.

On the plus side, I thought the offensive line held up well tonight, and that's good considering all the questions around the line entering the season. Wallis didn't get hit that much, and Kincade ran pretty well.

I had a radio in the stands, and Rich Phillips was saying that Coach Bennett has been preaching the importance of protecting the ball since the day he arrived. He even said Bennett told the team "if you guys hung on to the ball last year, I'm not here now."

Think Coach Cavan is smiling somewhere in Georgia?

Do you think that is why they didn't hold on to the ball. There are rumblings inside.

What kind of rumblings?

Surely you're not suggesting the players want Cavan back. The majority of them were thrilled to see him go.

If Coach Bennett really told that to his players, be glad they had turnovers last year. Coach Bennett is a great coach, and he definitely will get things going in the right direction. He'll learn as he goes, but he'll have you in a bowl game by 2004.
