1985: Wacker tells a reporter that he would be "the most shocked man in the world" if there was reason for the NCAA to investigate the Horned Frogs. Within hours, Wacker's players confess to a play-for-pay scheme sponsored by TCU boosters. One of the players, All-American running back Kenneth Davis, admits he received $18,000 over three years ... SMU is placed on a three-year probation for multiple rules violations in football.

1986: The CFA negotiates a five-year, $175 million contract with CBS ... Baylor's basketball program is placed on two years probation after nine players were found to have received extra benefits, including cash ... TCU is hit with a three-year probation for 64 violations, including providing money and prostitutes to players.

I was at SMU in the 80s and don't remember any prostitutes. Did I miss out? Although the fraternities did provide strippers during rush week who were quite "friendly".
