Golf Digest has ranked 65 year old Houstonian Mike Rice, as the Number One Senior Amateur golfer. Rice won the USGA Senior Am in '05. Article claims Rice is a "former football player at SMU". I don't show him as a letterman, he probably "played" in the late 50's, early 60"....anybody heard of this guy? Long Live Lamar Haynes.

yes I believe he was from Arkadelphia Arkansas abd played at SMU circa 1984-

There is a photo of a Michael G. Rice in the senior section my 1963 Rotunda, which would make him about 65 today. The information next to his photo said he was from Jacksboro and played football.

That would have put him in his 40s while playing football at SMU...that should go into the records book.
