Misc. Observations

Postby PerunaPunch » Mon Sep 02, 2002 12:36 pm

It’s Monday, and somewhere, there's an amiable fellow – goes by the name of Mike – standing in the unemployment line. Every once and awhile his face contorts with a nervous tick, and he mutters “Turnovers, see, I told you... It’s those turnovers.”

JR: You can’t be superman every week. Keep the faith.

RM: You know that hard thing you wear on your head? It’s generally referred to as a helmet. Next week, plant it on somebody wearing black and red.

TW: You’re telegraphing. If a play is developing to the left, you start with your left foot back. I the play is developing to the right, you start with your right foot back. I saw that through my daze in the third quarter. I bet Navy’s DC, who gets paid to make those sort of observations, figured it out a lot sooner.

If you missed the coverage in The Dallas Morning News on Sunday, it was actually pretty good (especially considering the ending to the story). I’d like to call your attention to Bennett’s expression on the bottom of page 25B. The man looks absolutely forlorn and shell-shocked. That’s tough to see.

Very good points, one and all. You're right about Coach Bennett's expression in the paper. He looked like he'd just gotten run over by a runaway train. Which ain't that far from the truth.
