Bennett Discusses Phillips

it took Bennett about 20 seconds to even bring Phillips up after direct questioning about the QB situation and mentioning every other QB on the roster and signee. Believe he was gonna say Chris wants to play QB but stopped short and said a final decision hasn't been made whether Phillips will compete with a bunch of unproven QBs or assume the 5th string TE position.

Nuance. I understood it as "Phillips wants to play," not as "Phillips wants to play (quarterback)."
Can't say you are wrong. Funny how two people can hear that differently. But it certainly doesn't sound like Bennett is think Phillips is going ot get the job.

Fair enough, but last year Bennett was more or less sold on Eckert going into the season, then started to turn things over to the more experienced Romo even before Eckert got injured.

going 0-11 to start the season will tend to make you look for the second string QB.

QUick question for all you whiners about having no experinece at QB. How many snaps at D-1 does any QB on the UT roster have...any one...Bueler?...anyone?

Great comparison...Texas and SMU. Nice try pal. Give me a national championship at SMU and I think we all can overlook the fact we do not have experience at the QB position. The simple fact is Phillips should have gotten some snaps last year. He should have been given opportunities in games to show what he can do.

Matt Mccoy and Colt McCoy are two different QB's at UT. Matt took a couple of snaps as 3rd sting this year, while Colt redshirted and is the favorite going into the Spring. They are two different people.

Well confusing to 2 was my fault, they still only have 6 snaps of experience

If you all recall, phillips had about 7 games to show what he could do and we won 0 games. I do not understand why everyone is so high on phillips when he did nothing throwing the ball and won 0 games, no wonder PB doesnt mention him, not to mention he has a reputation of being a very selfish teammate.
