Craig James: He's a Red Raider Now

Postby MrMustang1965 » Thu Feb 02, 2006 1:05 am

ABC college football broadcaster and former SMU great Craig James was a proud papa dressed up in Texas Tech Red Raider garb during his son's signing ceremony at Celina. His son, wide receiver Adam, signed with the Red Raiders in Celina's library. James loaded up on Tech gear Tuesday at Frisco's Stonebriar Mall. A clerk told him: "I thought you were for SMU." James said: "I will always love SMU, but I'm a Red Raider now."

Even more of a reason not to like him.

You can't "love" SMU..yet not let your son visit the campus and then let him sign with Texas Tech. It just doesn't happen.

Go now. Be with your drunken Raiders.

How hilarious would it be if we beat Tech next season LOLOL!! You can bet if we did, he would all of a sudden be an SMU fan again.

You know, Craig James has annoyed me for a number of reasons related to his lukewarm, if that, support of his alma mater and his lack of contributing to help solve our woes.

But really, I suppose I can't fault him for supporting his kid's school. I married a Red Raider, and I go and root for them, even wear an occasional shirt with their logo. Of course, all bets are off when we play each other.

So if the fruit of my loins chose Texas Tech, then I guess I'd be a Red Raider mom. Now, if I have a child that chooses UT or TCU or UNC, on the other hand, then that child is paying for his or own college tuition and I'm rooting for that child's team to lose. That's just the way it has to be. Of course, my children will be brainwashed anyway so those places won't even be viable choices.

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! I *never* said that! Please clarify that Craig James said that! Not me!
