How do A&M and UT get away with this stuff???

This quote is from an A&M signee but UT does the same thing so I am lumping them in here in my post. This is from the Houston Chronicle Blog:

The Aggies have signed four Midland Lee football players the past two years. Not hard to see why.

Here's what Lee wide receiver Terrence McCoy told the newspaper about his brother's experience at A&M:

"They take care of you down there," McCoy said. "I know from my brother they keep your pockets full, give you plenty of money, keep feeding you meals. Besides that all the help they give you with football. They keep you on your grades with private tutoring. Just good all-around."

And here is a link to the Midland paper the story was in:

Absolutely unbelievable. If one of our recruits had said this, I think they might take away every last one of our sports programs.

is that for real? sure looks like a real quote. Unbelievable. Somebody ought to at least send that to the NCAA office for fun.

If you're going to lump UT into this conversation, you might as well lump every other Div 1A school in as well.

And what will the NCAA do, they'll investigate, pull out a limp noodle and slap the Aggies on the wrist. Bad Aggies, Bad Aggies, don't do it again. Just for the record, A&M is second on the list behind SMU in NCAA sanctions. By all rights, they should get the death penalty if they get caught again. But they won't.

That still doesn't mean SMU did not deserve it.

EastStang never said SMU didn't deserve it. He just said the Aggies DO deserve it if they get caught again.

JT, your little "we deserved it" remarks are getting old...drop this [deleted]. Of course we deserved it...and so have many others since. I'm just damn fed up with being the only "deserving" ones to actually get penalized in such a harsh way. We the fans are the ones having to live with the affects of the dp, including the additional crap served up by the faculty senate, and we weren't even involved in it. Enough already.

National Corrupt A%%hole Athletics I said to myself in 1976 reading the
Daily Campus while eating lunch in the cafeteria that SMU was on 2
years probation with television sanctions for a coach giving $5 (probably
his own money) for a BIG HIT covering punt returns during a game or 2
in the 75 season.

someone forward a link to that story to Dale Hansen and see what kind of response you get

Dale is kinda getting near retirement. He earned his money pointing
fingers, and taking risks back in our pre-DP days, and maybe a couple
years later with TCU, and the wrist slaps on A$M, and UT.

He doesn't want to risk getting his nest egg sued out from under him
nowdays from slandered schools, parents, etc.
