SAM HOUSTON STATE v SMU - PREDICTIONS?

Hey, Mustangs! Gotta tell ya'll...the Bearkat Nation is PUMPED that we're going to play SMU in 2006! In fact, SMU is one of two Div. 1-A teams that our Div. 1-AA team will play this season. We play the Mustangs first in Dallas and then we play the #1 team in the nation two weeks later...yes, we play the University of Texas Longhorns in Austin on September 30!

Any predictions on the Sam Houston State v SMU game?

I think Sam Houston will give ya'll a good game for your home opener. We'll play a tough first half but ya'll will probably wear us down and win the game.

Final:
SMU 44
SHS 30

jtstang lets not go crazy here. I would say that score is far more believable than 21-10 vs TCU this year.

Personally, I think Sam Houston won't score that much vs our D. I predict 34-16 SMU over the Kats.

Let's hope we repeat the last game we had against a D1AA opponent, which I believe was Cal-State Northridge.

Is MM1965 going to be decked out in half SMU/half SHSU garb--a la Brady Quinn's sister?

Record of I-A teams against I-AA teams is 87%. If you eliminate schools that had just transitioned to I-A from I-AA from the I-A losses, it is even higher.

I'm not talking about the score, I'm talking about the fact that an opponent's fan is on this board in FEBRUARY talking smack and asking for predictions about about a game that's EIGHT MONTHS AWAY not to mention against a d-2 team.

Uh, where was there ANY smack in his post? Sheesh. Lighten up. He predicted SMU to win.

Ponyfans can get a bit jumpy on smack-talk with all the north texas fans, frogs, etc that come here.

Isn't SHSU known for having a great offense? It SHOULD be a slaughter fest if we have even decent QB production - I predict 250 DeMyron yards if they let him run. If we the QB situation I'm dreading - Tate Wallis reborn - then it could be close. If we lose, I will find Copeland's home, cover his doorstep with cornstarch, then urinate on it to create a sticky yellow paste of another season down the toilet.

Hopefully we humiliate SHSU, they get really pissed, and somehow upset UT.

Sorry JT. Did not realize what you were saying there.

Ya it is early and ya our predictions mean nothing right now or ever, but they are excited to be playing SMU. I guess for them it is like the A@M game was for us. There is no way in hell they should win, but they would be partying in the streets if they did.

Hell, I personally am happy a team actually considers it a privelage to play against us- even a I-AA team haha.

Sam_Houston -

Welcome to Ponyfans. Your friendly post shows enthusiasm. I am expecting an SMU victory, but I also believe that the Bearkats will walk onto the field motivated and ready to play.

If you are coming to the Hilltop (SMU) for the game you'll like our beautiful Ford Stadium and tailgating scene especially "The Boulevard".

* How many Bearkat fans do you think will attend the game?
* What are the offensive and defensive strengths of your team?
* Will the OL transfer from Baylor start?
* Any special Bearkat football/fan related traditions that SMU fans will notice when SH visits (ie. Wisconsin fans wearing "cheeseheads" on the road)?

Congratulations on your under construction strength and conditioning facility.

God help your little souls. You have more guts than us I guess?

Welcome to PonyFans.com.

I'll go with SMU by 20..right now. Depending on what else goes on, could lower.

Remember we got waxed by the Aggies and SHSU played them a much better game a few weeks later.

I could be mistaken, but I believe that was Texas State.
