The Baltimore Orioles signed Brad's older brother, Brooks, to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training. Today the team announced his intention to retire.

That's a shame -- I would like to see the last of the pitcher/position player combos keep going, especially if he's related to one of our own. He was unique, in a throwback kind of way.
