I find it amazing that Nebraska is JUST NOW expanding their stadium. From what I've heard from Nebraska natives, the waiting list for season tickets is ridiculously long. I just find it hard to believe that the school could just now muster the funds to upgrade the stadium. I'm gald they are, though. Those fans deserve to be at the games. Some of the nicest yet most rabid fans you'll ever meet.

I hope I live to see the day that DKR is 100k+.

Are you referring to Royal's age? He's almost there.

(Don't get mad, we don't have anyone that even get to take the Wonderlic)

Why would I be mad? I thought it was funny.

They have already mixed up the bronze here in Arkansas to pour over Broyle's body as soon as he dies so they can stand him outside of their stadium. There is a team of students on call 24-7 at the ready to pour.

you know Broyles made what looks like a great financial decision in going to the SEC-can't argue with it-but from a competitive perspective he made just a tremendous mistake that will hurt Arkansas for years in competing on a National Level. Arkansas is simply not a player for the TOP Texas athletes-plenty of second tier prospects but not the Gold Chippers in the vital Texas recruiting grounds. They have lost ground in both recruiting and the tremendous following they had in Texas. In the long run I believe Arkansas would have been much better off in the Big 12 than the SEC. I doubt you could get many Arkansas fans to admit it but I still think it is true.

Lots of people here think Arkansas is trying to work their way into the Big 12. I don't know or care unless the SEC would choose us to replace them. That would give the SEC a presence in Texas. What a dream. Maybe we need to be looking to the SEC Commissioners office for AD applicants.

Man, can you imagine how badly we would get ripped by Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Tennessee? Hell even South Carolina.

We used to beat those teams, and those of us that remember want to get back there. It can not happen tomorrow but it can happen with the right leadership given the proper weapons and the proper ammunition. That is why I want us to at least try and recruit with the Texas's, A&Ms, Oklahomas, etc. instead of saying what so many do..."do not go after them we do not have a chance to get them". Or, "why do we care who goes to Texas", well thats a good one that is not going to SMU. I am sorry you younger guys do not know or remember how it was, because if things are done right, we could be there again.

Opposed to what Stallion and others say about our schedule next year, I am happy with it due to the state of the program. But we can not survive playing 2nd tier teams very long. Forget about attendance, we are talking entertainment in one of the largest Metropolitan area of the country. We will never be a powerhouse in the attendance category, we have proven that, but we can be a powerhouse in college football, we have proven that also. Yeah, we cheated. So did others and we still competed with them. It make take the "perfect storm" of recruiting, scheduling, skill, luck, and promises, but it can be done with the proper committment from the powers of the University.

I hope I live to see the day SMU sells out Ford 6 times a year, and sells out its bowl allotment.

Don't count on it.

It only takes one really rich alumni to buy up all of our home tickets and our bowl allotment, so it could conceivably happen in our lives......the idea that there will be people sitting in those seats is another matter.[/list]
