DMN reporting that Meredith had a stroke and won't be attending Cowboys reunion... no mention of SMU in the article.

It must have been revised based on your post:
"Meredith, an All-American at SMU, went to three Pro Bowls from 1960-68. After retiring from football, he began a memorable run as an analyst for ABC’s Monday Night Football."

Don and Susan are some really sweet people. My son and I had a couple hours with them the weekend of the first game at Ford Stadium.
I hope he gets better!!!

My claim to fame is that I finished college (at another school) the same year that Don Meredith would have graduated in 1960. I enrolled at SMU the in September 1960 for professional studies and mustang football just wasn't the same after Don had left. At the time I was a Dallas Texan fan because the NFL wouldbn't give Dallas a franchise until after the AFL was formed. So I was ambivalent about Meredith being a Cowboy during the early years of the AFL and NFL rivalry. But SMU loyalty won out and I loved following his career thereafter. Thanks for the memories Dandyroo. Get well soon.

Read the linked article folks...
Meredith doing fine; he suffered minor stroke in 2004
"Don Meredith and his family released a statement Thursday saying that the legendary SMU and Dallas Cowboys quarterback had suffered a stroke in November 2004 and currently is doing fine."
The reason this article ran today is because Dale Hansen the other night stated that Don couldn't make it to a Cowboy's reunion because of a "recent" stroke. What he didn't mention is that the "recent" stroke was a mild one that he had over a year ago. Evidently his doctor has advised him against traveling. Other than that he is doing fine.
When ABC had their last Monday Night Football broadcast, didn't they do a video interview with Dandy Don rather than a live interview?
