There is no purpose in a comment like that other than to anger folks. No solution is offered, no different perspective suggested .... that serves no purpose other than to make loyal fans lose optimism. This site has always been pleasantly objective -- some objective criticism is not just welcome, but required by fans who truly care. This kind of comment can have no positive effect, and serves no purpose other than to pour salt in a wound. Nice "fan."Stallion wrote:speaking of the Pros -is SMU the only school in Division 1A without a single graduate on an NFL roster?
Stallion wrote:Its called encouraging the changes that have to be made in the program in order to allow SMU to compete with its natural and traditional rivals. I'm really surprised that any one would be surprised with this information since I've been telling you the same thing for the last 10 years. There are a lot of people on this board with a vested interest that don't want you-the SMU fan - know just what a poor job they have done at SMU. Are you afraid of the truth?
No doubt, but harping on a fan forum rather than on the admin's front door isn't going to get much done in the way of change. Perhaps organizing an effort would, but just [deleted] day in and day out on PF.com isn't going to get it done.SoCal_Pony wrote:You know PK, I think if more people would confront and challenge our leaders (in the proper forum, of course) rather than merely go along for the ride, I think we all would be a lot happier with the end product.
It may not be the main culprit, but it has a definite affect...such as modernizing Moody...hiring top coaches with D1 head coaching experience. Do you think TCU would have gotten to where they are if they had the same low level of financial support from their alums we have?SoCal_Pony wrote:I also believe money is not the main culprit for our failure.
See my answers above.SoCal_Pony wrote:I personally love college BB, especially March Madness...you realize its been almost 20 years since we went dancing? And during that time, not only have we not gone to the NCAA tourney, we haven't even come close. Furthermore, with the players on this team, it is doubtful we will go anytime soon.
Your are absolutely correct...Stallion can do any damn thing he wants...it's his right, but he is only kidding himself if he thinks he is accomplishing anything to get things changed by what he is doing. I think SMU Football Blog's post concerning grduation rates on the recruiting board makes a very good point. You, on the other hand, miss the point. Lack of NFL players does not guarantee failure...it is the failure that guarantees no NFL players and thanks to Stallion...we all know the reason for the failure...ad nausea.SoCal_Pony wrote:So I think Stallion has a right not to support the MC, if that is his way to protest. And I also think his post about SMU being the only team in D1-A without an NFL player is not telling the full story.
LT in one drive has contributed more to the NFL than the sum of all SMU players over the past 20 years.
