Just wanted to mention that I stopped by practice today and saw Willis leading the offensive up and down the field against 1st team D. He looked sharp infact not missing on a single pass for the fifteen minutes I watched

It was still our defense though, so that statement could be good or bad.

Our defense ended up pretty good last year.

i agree that it is ONLY practice against some fresh new guys, BUT it is better than hearing he threw 8 pics against.

The front four was the heart and soul of the defense last year, especially toward the end of the season when the defense became stronger by the game. That's not to belittle the play of D.D. Lee, Alvin Nnabuife and Rico Harris, but it certainly helps when Haywood and Rogers and the boys up front are doing the job .... and all four are back.

There's a lot of talk that the depth will be better. Randy Denman is a senior now and reportedly has added a lot of strength. Chris Parham supposedly has gotten much bigger and stronger, as has Dominic Pryor. Charlie Berry is up into the 290s. I hear Patrick Handy is looking extremely good in practice.
Anyone hear anything about Troy Therien or Kyle Griffin?

Can we get an interview and assessment with Chuck Faucette. I want to find out how the strength programs are going this year

Good call, me@smu -- that's already in the works. Coach Faucette was absolutely beaming about the work the team has put in with him in the weight room, but we didn't really go into specifics. That is being scheduled shortly, however.

My question is what is happening with Dominic Pryor??? This guy looks like he could be dominant. Does he have a chance at playing some this year?

Didn't Joe Sturdivant have a good year last year? He graduated from one of the power house Atlanta high schools a few years ago. I think this is his senior season.

Pryor is coming along. When he arrived, he was a basketball-player-turned-DE whose sheer speed made him effective in high school. At the college level, that wasn't enough, and his lack of experience showed, burying him on the depth chart. He has since moved inside to DT, and he's making some headway. The spring roster lists him at 6-5, 250 -- I've been told he's a little heavier (260-ish) than that, and that the muscle finally is starting to pile up, and the plan is to have him over 270 (maybe even 280) by August. He still has some quickness, and with his increasing strength, he has the potential to be a pretty effective inside pass rusher. My understanding is that he is expected to be in the DT rotation this year.
