OK, we get it, they're upset to lose Orsini. Sounds like he's a good AD. There's a lot written about his "financial wizardry." Maybe he's a good third baseman on his church softball team.
But they're acting like the sky is falling. You'd think SMU strolled in and grabbed Daunte Culpepper with three years of eligibility left. They're posting things about what they're going to do to us when we travel there. If we grabbed O'Leary, I think they might bomb Dallas.
I don't know, it's just strange. I've never heard of an athletic director with such a seemingly passionate fan club. If DeLoss Dodds left Austin (College), the UT faithful would just buy another.
I hope he's so good that in a year or two, we'll all understand why they're flipping out down there.

Let's say 2 years from now, the football team has just won their first bowl game in god knows how long, average attendance was over 30,000, the basketball team had just made it to the finals of the NIT and average attendance was over 5,000, soccer had just claimed it's first national title, and the new basketball practice facility and Moody renovation was nearing completion and...........Orsini leaves to go to Baylor......
How do you think we would react??????????

Apparently he was trying to negotiate an extension with UCF. Judging by his taking the SMU gig, I'd say those negotiations were going less than stellar. If I was a UCF fan, I'd be mad at the administration, not SMU.

Good points, one and all.
And jtstang makes a great point, too -- the UCF fans should be directing their anger at UCF for letting him leave, not at us for going after him.

Hey Jtstang. What kind of car did you end up getting? I would venture to say a Chevrolet. Time will let us know whether it is a Cavilier, an Impala, or a Corvette.

Let's just say "not a Ferrari" and leave it at that.

No, but it sounds like it might turn out to be a really sharp Infiniti or BMW or something. Fingers are officially crossed on that.

My friends in Michigan, home to GM, use to call it a Cadaver-lier.

That's not a car, only an adjective describing my attitude.
