I realize that you conceded that they ticket has come up to the boulevard but this is too good of an opportunity to pass up on..
Stallion wrote:Have we ever invited the Ticket to do a College Football Showcase on the Boulevard say when we play Tech or Baylor? No because we are too afraid to attempt to engage the personalities on the ticket because they might say something that might enrage an old fart. We ain't cool. Hell they'd do a remote from LeRoy's Fried Chicken and even Stan's BlueNote but nobody at SMU has the Balls to engage the Ticket. Instead, we [deleted].
OOOOHHHHH HOOO HHOOOO.. Stallion you stepped right in my trap...
The ticket has been on campus several times over the past five years for tailgating on the boulevard.. especially for the tech game, tcu game and others.. i was out of town at a wedding for the baylor game so i won't say anything about that
They were even here last year when we beat TCU.. Greggo and Corby were there.. When i worked promotions at the ticket i did several games on the boulevard...
I love it when you are DEAD WRONG
.. especially when your caught w/ your foot in your mouth..
here is a shoe horn for yah

Hey [deleted] I've seen first hand how a College Athletic Program should be marketed and you damn sure haven't if you've followed SMU during the last 17 years. If you think that was a successful promotion then you pretty well don't understand the first thing about the subject.

Haven't you also followed SMU for the last 17 years?
By that logic, whatever you saw at SMU before that, or at another school, is moot.

I was working in the SMU Athletic Department during Mustang Mania which was a success beyond the wildest dreams of all SMU fans. I guarantee you that if Potts/Thomas were running the Boulevard that thing would look like a 3 Ring Circus. And yeah from what I know it looks like Orsini is a good hire. Its been reported that SMU has been paying its AD above market rate and it looks like that commitment at least will pay some dividends. There was a lot of interest from quality candidates I think partly because of that.

The Ticket typically sets up by what used to be the Freshman Quad.

Stallion is the most opinionated person on this board.
If this is your best attempt to prove him WRONG as you titled your thread, I say score one for Stallion.

how about going from 6,000 to 60,000 on successive games against Rice, how about averaging 52,000 per game, how about special articles in Sport Illustrated and National TV programs, how about a Nationally Promoted Jerry Lewis Bowl that damn near sold out the Cotton Bowl against TCU when TCU was 1-10 and SMU was 3-8-how about Morgan Fairchild and Cherly Tieggs for Homecoming Queen-and how about having this success start with a perennially losing Football program.

Now that Cheryl Tiegs and Morgan Fairchild are in the more advanced stages of their careers, wouldn't Amber Campisi be the logical choice for Homecoming Queen?

or Amy Aicker, or the girl on Gilmore Girls, there are probably lots of choices of relatively famous attractive SMU female alumni that we could bring in.
Hell, with the demographics of Texas why not bring in Laura Bush.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

No offense to your suggestion but I too am in the advanced stage of my career. And to me Cheryl Teigs looks as if she has been laminated since 1970. Fairchild on the other hand has ridden a hard road.

touch a soft spot there, Stallion..
Well good, since you worked w/ the athletic department during those times why dont you stop worrying about whether a guy is a 2star or a 3star recruit and start telling us about what Potts/Thomas did to make those things happen. Everyone agrees that Mustang Mania was greatness (if they don't they should) but why are we not installing those ideas today.
Everyone can [deleted] and moan and talk up or talk down a guy that smu recruits but does that really matter NO.. the only thing that matters is that the guy comes to SMU and helps us put W's on the record books.. I could say hundreds of examples but here is just one..
Ryan Moats, we didn't get him and now he is playing in the NFL.. he was right down the street.. no one ever knows who will or won't be good.
