why not schedule OU instead? In Sunday's Oklahoman, there is an obit on a old Sooner that lived 102 years. He's still in the record for intercepting 5 passes in a 9-0 win over SMU at Dallas' Fair Park in 1925....

Not a bad idea, actually. I doubt you could sell OU on it, since Ford only holds 32K and they already recruit well here. But if we could get it set up in JerryWorld or even the Cotton Bowl (I heard football used to played there), maybe they'd go for it.

If nothing else, it's worth a phone call, Steve-O!

OU recruits here well? Better check that. Saw a statistic the other day that OU is 0-16 on Texas offers/commitments so far and UT is something like 17 for 21. And quite frankly UT is reportedly LEADING for each and every one of those other 4 guys. Texas literrally could get everyone they want before this thing is through. OU is getting their [deleted] royally kicked by UT this year on players they both wanted and another DT Tray Allen from South Grand Priarie -the number 3 player-in Texas reportedly is just about ready to commit after visiting during UTs Spring Game.

Wait till Chizik follows Vince out the door, then Mack will be back to #2 in Big 12 South.

It goes deeper than just the Coordinator. There once was a day that OU dominanted UT in Metroplex recruiting-seriously UT didn't recruit Dallas well for years or really decades. Guys like Tray Allen would always end up at OU. Bob Stoops is the one that's going to hear the complaints if he doesn't pick it up.

Does OU and UT recruiting in the metroplex really have anything to do with SMU's recruiting? Who was our last recruit that got an offer or even serious consideration from either school? Would one have to go back to the Eric Dickerson days when we were willing to write the biggest check?

With no RRR (S), if OU is having recruiting problems now, they'll only get worse if they don't have a game in Dallas for their fans, alums and recruits. I suspect if we sign a deal with OU for a home and home, that UT will be banging on our door to get a home and home. The only problem I see in getting OU is that they lost to TCU last year, and we beat TCU. That might be something that might drive them north to UNT.

To dream of the day that OU is scared to play us.
