Ha! A&M was the heat stroke game for me. Holy moly! Only one other time (at Baylor Stadium in the early 70s) did I have to escape to the shade.

The A&M game was brutal!. Although, there was a game at SMU a couple of years ago (I think it was 2002) where the temperature was about 112-115. I was sitting on the vistors side, so I didn't get any shade for the whole game. That was the hottest I think I have ever been. Curiously, later that year there was a game in the mid-20's. So I burned one game and froze another.

Do you remember how hot the Kansas game was when we had the first game at Ford Stadium.

Kansas Game started with 112 temp. Boy I remeber that one, it was 26 days after I had my hip replaced. The hobble from the tailgate to my seat was like two miles ( not really but it felt like it. )
At least we won!!!
Go Mustangs

Norm?
Seriously though, that A&M game was the worst I've ever felt (I was on crutches and frankly just wanted to die). The Kansas game was unbearable as well, but at least we were winning.

That's right it was the Kansas game. I remember now as at halftime, I switched shirts to the free one that they gave out before the game so that I would at least have a dry shirt on. At least, it was dry for a little while.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but as SMU continues its ascent to being a perennial Top 25 team we will have a lot more home day games to accomodate television.
Believe me - now that we are approaching being a 8-10 win team year in and year out the heat won't bother you nearly as much since we wll be whipping the opponents with regularity.
GO PONIES!

Let's hope it doesn't translate into Tuesday and Wednesday games.

I have to admit though, I'm excited for the Tuesday game vs UAB.
