Interesting quote

Postby PonyPride » Sun Apr 09, 2006 3:15 pm

I ran into Darrin Johnson this morning, and we talked about spring ball, the Red/Blue game, etc. He had a lot of good things to say about a lot of his teammates and coaches, but this one really jumped out at me.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Justin (Rogers) is the best defensive end I've faced since I've been here. I've played against (former Texas Tech star) Adell Duckett and some other really good defensive ends, but Justin is better than any of them. Remember how skinny he was when he was a (205-pound) freshman? He was strong as hell then. Now he's 260 or something, and he makes me work so hard in practice every day. He's so strong that if he can get you knocked off-balance, that's it -- you're done. And he never gets tired -- ever. He's going to cause a lot of problems for offensive tackles this year."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rather impressive praise, if you ask me.

I have heard similar stories. This will only make both of them better!

I love hearing quotes like that, of course, but when it comes from someone who goes against him every day in practice, then it really means something. I could sit here and say Rogers is going to tear up C-USA this year, and it wouldn't mean much because I'm sitting here at a computer. But when Johnson says it .... and to call him "the best he's faced"? That's a hell of a compliment!

Damn. I hope he's not too good. I don't want to be losing players early to the NFL.

I know you are trying to be humorous in all your post today...too bad you don't know how. Chill while you still have a chance to not look too stupid.

Rogers looked like a monster out there on Saturday. He is a very impressive player.

Yeah, it'd a shame if to have talent good enough for the NFL.

Especially since Rogers is going to be a senior this year, and if he makes it to the NFL it will not be because he left early.
Otherwise, your post is right out of the Guinness commercials -- BRILLIANT!
