Posted: Mon Apr 10, 2006 11:04 amFurther, i was taken back by the fact that we have actually gotten smaller at linebacker than we were last year. Hawkins looks more like a safety or a receiver (which he played last year) than a C-USA linebacker...very skeptical about his abilities...did not think he did much in the scrimmage either

If they are real small, they had better be athletic.

I know this quote isn't going to come out right - but Hawkins IS a safety, not a linebacker.

Reggie Carrington is a inch taller, and 10 pounds heavier than D D Lee.
Tony Hawkins is a shade taller, and 5 pounds heavier than Alvin was, so we actually got a little bit bigger.

Posted: Tue Apr 11, 2006 1:34 amNot too mention the muscle that Hurst and Fleps add. None of us knows yet whether we'll be better or worse at LB than we were last year, but there is at least some size there.
