Since R. Dupard and J. Atkins were Pony Express 2, wouldn't they have to be the third coming? Or was that K. Adams and R. Phillips, which would make them the fourth?

DeMyron has had one good year and Fitz has had a couple of good games. What say we hold off on getting their mugs carved into Mount Rushmore for a little while?
I could see them being one of the focuses of the marketing posters, etc., but calling them PE2 (or PE3 or PE4) is a bit premature, don't you think?
I'd love it if they have such a good year that we actually can have this conversation at the end of the season, though.

Maybe so but wouldn't it be nice to have a positive marketing spin at some point and time instead of sitting around waiting for something good to happen? Mustang Mania was introduced before it was successful. Perception is 80% of marketing.

The DMN should do a cover of DeMyron complete with Goggles and neck roll like E.D for the pull out football section. I agree with BUS that DeMyron is something special and something to get excited about. I am still ticked he watched the Baylor game from the sidelines.

Okay the kid is pretty good, but this is a stretch of epic proportions right now. How about we get excited about the first Demyron Martin and hold off making him live up to E.D.

IT'S MARKETING MAN.
Get it out there.
Both guys dressed up.
Put Demyron in uniform like ED and Johnny in nice 80's Prep clothes.

This is like comparing Secretariat to Mr Ed! There is no comparison.

Hey, maybe they'll put up ED and CJ numbers against CUSA opponents. That would be a welcome change. On the other hand without an option offense, they will have fewer touches than ED and CJ.

If we are going to wait for results before setting up a positive marketing campaign, we might as well clear up the AD deficit by shutting down the marketing department. You do not have to be blinded by sunshine just to promote an upcoming team. No one is saying to compare DM with ED directly. Just promote what people would like to hear. SMU today is primarily know for 3 things. Doak Walker, ED/CJ Pony Express, and the Death Penalty. The Doak folk are dying off and a small fan base. Death Penalty, tough to spin in a positive fashion. So why not promote a Pony Express second or third or fourth coming. If the promotion does not pan out because DM and JF do not perform what have we lost? I think our fan base has no where to go but up. But think aboiut this. A positive promotion of our running backs (one of them did get some national mention last year) could entice some of these big linemen to commit.
