Bad with the 2nd team, better with the 1st team

His accuracy was way off at the beginning, but he settled down OK. It was hard to tell a lot, because the coaches didn't call many passes that were more than a few yards .... a lot of screen passes and quick-hitters over the line of scrimmage, presumably so that the team could work on the running game without Martin and iron out the kinks in the short game .... or because they thought Tech was scouting???????

Does anyone know if he will be red-shirted?

I highly doubt it. Even if Willis starts, which is what it sounded like after the Red/Blue game, Coach Bennett clearly wants a backup who has taken some snaps above the HS level, and with Phillips having moved to TE, that means Slater. Whether he or Eric Johnson is No. 2 remains to be seen, I expect, but I seriously doubt Slater will redshirt.
Of course, I'm not a coach, so I'm not aware of what's on the coaches' minds beyond what they choose to share. But that's my opinion.
