I see all of the pony fans are already chalking up your game against lil' ol North Texas as a win, what a surprise though not unfounded, but let's get to the more important question. You don't fill up Ford so how many can we expect you to bring to your win against us at Fouts? Over on our board www.gomeangreen.com/board there is a thread predicting the attendance for our game. Many of us think it might sell out but that would require you to bring more than 3-4,000 fans. Do you think you'll do well enough against Tech to warrant this optimism? Honest question, no vitriole intended.

I'd be suprised if we had 3-4000 people there. Remember a few years ago (maybe several) when NTSU went to Lubbock and won, then came back to N. Tx and played a$m at Texas Stadium? That created a little excitement. Something similar would need to happen, in my opinion, to get that many up to Denton.
There were far fewer than that number in College Station last year.

For more than four decades, the stadium remained the same. In the early 1990’s, UNT students passed a referendum for an increase in student fees for an addition to Fouts Field. By the 1994 season, 10,000 seats were added to Fouts Field increasing the seating capacity to just over 30,000. The most recent change at Fouts Field came before the 1997 season when new Astroturf was installed. Facts & Figures
-Tenant: North Texas Eagles
-Conference: Sun Belt
-Capacity: 30,500
-Surface: Astroturf
-Opened: September 1951
-Cost: Unknown

If this was 2,3,4 years ago, I'd sweat it. But, even with the tandem backfield, the first ever with back-to-back RB champs in the same backfield EVER, UNT sucked last year. And their prospects aren't much better this year.
I expect 5-7k if we beat Tech (not likely), perhaps 2-3k (students and loyal alumni) if we get blown out by Tech.

Denton's a little easier commute than Boise or Honolulu, where we might not have had that many fans making the trip.

I've gone to the last couple of TCU games in FW and I doubt SMU brought more than 1500 to either.

Well, I will be bringing at least 7 with me. My wife is finishing a second degree at UNT and I have talked her friend from school and husband into going. Further, I have a younger cousin that goes there as well so I will have her come with her parents and my parents are going to the game as well. Granted, my cousin will be wearing UNT, but my wife and parents will be all SMU and after bringing her friend from school and husband to SMU for a few games last year, they will probably be wearing SMU gear as well. Kinda funny to have UNT people wearing SMU when they didn't go to SMU, but I'll take it. The more fans the better.

No, we had a lot more than 1500 at Amon Carter.
We'll have 5000 at Denton if we don't get blown out in Lubbock.
But, since I'm predicting a 28-26 over the Red Raiders, we'll have 8000.
