How many seasons does Orsini give Bennett to win?

Given how quick Orsini was to pull the trigger on JT, how long does Phil have to have a team that wins more than it doesn't?

I would say two more, he will give Phil 5 years. I don't think it will be necessary, as I would give us a good chance at 4-6 this year. Depends on QB and LB play, I hope Slater turns out good.

Wouldn't 4 or 5 wins be a dissapointment...just because we have a new QB?

Hell, yes, 4 wins would be disappointment! A BIG one. This team needs AT LEAST 7 wins. I'm looking for 8 or 9.

Losing better be a thing of the past around here REAL QUICK or we might as well drop to I-AA.

4-6 wins for two straight years would be a big improvement. I would look to 2007-2008 as a possible seven win season.

4 wins? including the 3 Blind Mice? 4 wins gets Bennett fired before December.

i think orsini is gonna go balls on all the programs that aren't performing beyond par. hopefully phil will pull out a 9 winner this season, and then the new bball coach does something better than 500

It is what I am expecting. We are real thin at LB, and the QB issues scares me. Don't get me wrong, I hope we win 10.

This thread is nothing more than juvenile pot-stirring. Orsini will evaluate Coach Bennett on the season as it plays out. If injuries cripple the team, that will affect expectations. Academics could affect players' eligibility status, thereby affecting expectations. If a bunch of Tech players can't play and we run them off their own field, does Coach Bennett suddenly get a raise? Of course not. Orsini didn't get where he is, and get the reputation he has, by establishing quantitative expectations in April.

Plus we need to reverse that stupid building of Ford. Lets tear it down so we can better recruits and more fans and then we can build it back.

It has really helped recruiting just like you guys said. We still get the same attendance numbers for football games and we get the same recruits. RAH RAH RAH

With our recruiting the last few years, a set back from last year is a real possibility.

If there's a "set back" (or a step back), you can point to breaking in a new QB, shuffling of the offensive line, the loss of six linebackers from last year, the departure of three starters in the secondary and having to replace Mentzel and McMurtray in the kicking game. The team will be bigger and faster than last year, and if Willis, Hurst, Fleps, Lindley and whoever kicks and punts perform, then we can expect a season that's equal to or better than last year. But there are a lot of questions that have to be answered first.

Why is Texas not talking about a "set back" when they are breaking in a new QB as well?

Otto makes it sound like last year will be difficult to duplicate. I was hoping it was a sign of things to come, not our program running at its highest level.
