Get Van Halen to perform a pre-game concert at Ford.
They could sing "Right Now"; a suggestion for the Mustangs' theme song this season.

"The Division I Council sent to the Board of Directors legislation to modify Division I-A football attendance requirements. The proposal provides that a Division I school meets football attendance requirements if it averages more than 17,000 in actual paid attendance for home contests in the immediate four-year period. One current exception to the requirement will be retained. A school that fails to meet home-attendance requirements can retain Division I-A football status if it is a member of a conference which has at least six members sponsoring football and more than half of them meet the attendance criterion.
The purpose of the legislation is to establish more stringent attendance standards consistent with expectations for competing in the subdivision while providing deserving institutions interested in moving to Division I-A the opportunity to participate at that level. Schools that fail to meet requirements would be placed in a restricted membership category for a maximum of three years. If the institution fails to meet requirements after three years, it would be reclassified into the appropriate subdivision."

I don't know about Van Halen - a little old and washed up, what does that say about our program??? I like the concert idea though and I know it's been thrown out before...

Like I said, the high schools and colleges are playing plenty of 70s and 80s rock at sporting events. It's not washed up.

What would a pregame concert do to the boulevard? Now you have a decision to make. Go the the pregame concert or go to the boulevard and eat and drink.
My personal choice would be to eat and drink than to watch a wedding band or some old rock group.
A division of our support groups just doesn't sound like a great idea, plus, after the concert, how many guest and students would stay for the FB game?
BAD IDEA AND A WASTE OF MONEY.
Just send 'da money.

Well, not an entire pre-game concert then; just one game where Van Halen plays the theme song for the tunnel run. Then a big POST-GAME concert.

Having them play one pre-game tune might actually get The Boulevard folks into the stadium FOR THE KICKOFF.......

Didn't they have a post game concert one time, and nobody stuck around past half-time to see it?
