.....I am working the FedEx golf tourney this week / weekend...Tulane fball coach Chris Scelfo was playing in the pro-am on Wednesday, I was talking to his caddie who turned out to be Tulane D coach Zo Costantini..anyway, we talked about C-USA fball, the Tulane game last year, predictions for '07, it was a nice conversation, Zo is a good guy...as he moves on, I can tell he is telling Scelfo about our convo, the SMU conncection, etc...Scelfo stops, turns around and walks towards me so I can hear him, says "Thanks, SMU. we appreciate the support, thanks", and gives me a big thumbs up...pretty nice move, class act....now, let's pound them senseless come next season!

Coach Scelfo is a fantastic guy. Good coach, tough as nails, and a man who has his priorities in the right order.

At the risk of being accused of not wanting to do whatever it takes to win, I say character does count. Thanks for the post!

I met Mike and his wife at the BUS stop last year when their campus was under water.
He had the same clothes on for days and was just glad that he and his family along with the team were safe.
His wife had a glass of wine and he a beer while a dozen or so ate XTC's fantastic Gumbo.
After all they had been through, you could not be more polite or thankful.
NOW, Let's beat the crap out of them this year.
Peace out.

As an aside, TU lost one of its football greats two days ago. Tony Sardisco (Look All American in 1955, TU Hall of Fame inductee, 1982) died of a heart attack two days ago. My sympathies to the family and TU community.
