...according to a poll on the CUSA Fan Forum. For some reason I don't think that is a compliment.

Maybe our quality of hate is higher. Just because we lack in quantity does not mean we can not be hated with the best of them at least from a quality standpoint.

You would think that after a last second 49 yard field goal to beat Houston at home......a arse kicking of Rice.........ruining UTEP's chance to go to the CUSA Championship game.......and the last second victory on UAB's home turf, would at least earn SMU some frowns!

Which team was the most hated? Memphis?
Honestly, none of the CUSA teams really inspire a lot of hatred out of me. I guess I hate Rice because I hope Todd Graham and Major Applewhite fail.

That all translates as sure sympathay at best - apathy at worst. Add to our ineptness, our newness to the league, and you get no real response - least hated, as opposed to most loved, admired, etc.

OK, Rodney Daingerfield.
We're the least hated team in the league because these teams are not our historic rivals. TCU, Texas, etc. are more likely to hate us than ECU, Marshall, or Southern Miss.

Those of us who post over there, do not engage in much smack, except for the occasional barb about ECU and Memphis hiking up their skirts for the Big East or when a UNT or Frog fans happens onto the site. Otherwise, we keep ourselves to saying nice things about everyone else and how we'll improve some day.

Hopefully this has more to do with the class displayed by our athletes and fans rather than our W's and L's.
