Sorry I wasn't at the game on Saturday to see the first win for Coach Bennett and the 2002 Mustangs. But I got a post-game report from "Born Red & Blue" who said I would have been VERY proud of the students and alumni who were in Ford Stadium for their support and attitude both during and after the game. Way to go, Mustangs! It's time to start the winning streak!

Hope everyone is safe traveling to Houston for the Rice game next weekend. I-45 is a b*tch around Corsicana right now and it seems like the Texas Highway Dept. always chooses weekends to shut down at least one lane of traffic somewhere along the 250 mile stretch to Houston.

Also, there's LOTS of construction underway on Houston's highway system. Avoid Hwy. 59 and Loop 610 near the Galleria at all costs! Once you're past Conroe and cross the San Jacinto Bridge, I-45 opens up until you get to the Hardy Toll Road exit.

The best route to Rice Stadium is I-45 South thru downtown Houston and take the Hwy. 288 exit. Stay on Hwy. 288 to the Magregor exit and turn right on Magregor. Stay on Magregor until you see Rice Stadium. Once you're in Rice University, it's a breeze.

Born Red & Blue is right - you would have been very proud. The crowd wasn't enormous, but they sure were vocal. And the students stayed throughout the game this time. Great job by all the fans.

What a great win !! it could not have come at a better time. Homecoming, 2001 WAC champions, Vindication for last years embarrassment, Breaking the losing streak and Bennett's first WIN.
The team played very well Bartel, Cardwell, Hampton were outstanding. Congratulations to all players and football staff.
To may surprise the remaining ( if not all ) the student in attendance jumped the wall and rushed onto the field, this was a great sight. Imagine if we were wining regularly !!
The security staff even allowed some young children to enter the field with a smile. Oh how good must the team and staff feel with this win. I know that there were many fans who enjoyed this win, it could be a tide turner.
