Looking for Troup32I don't know if you're part of Keylon Kincade's family, a family friend or just a loyal fan, but you had to be proud of KK this weekend. 46 carries? He's got to be one sore young man.
Re: Looking for Troup32He leads the nation in carries now. 10th in rushing yards.
Re: Looking for Troup3210th in yards?
Keylon is a MAN! Where does he rank in yards per game?
Re: Looking for Troup32You're right - we're all proud down here of Keylon. He has worked so hard, leading up to this season and during the year. It's great to see all his hard work paying off so well.
Go Ponies! Beat Rice!
Re: Looking for Troup32My guess is about 15th in yards per game. He has 908 yds / 8 games = 113.5 yds a game.
Re: Looking for Troup32NAME CARRIES-YDS-YPC-LONG-TD
1. Michael Turner, N Illinois 225-1259-5.6-82 (TD)-13 2. Chris Brown, Colorado 164-1154-7.0-85 (TD)-13 3. Terry Jackson II, Minnesota 160-1031-6.4-71-3 4. Avon Cobourne, W Virginia 186-1002-5.4-52 (TD)-9 5. Maurice Clarett, Ohio St 161-980-6.1-59 (TD)-13 6. Joshua Cribbs, Kent St 114-950-8.3-72 (TD)-9 7. Ime Akpan, E Michigan 178-942-5.3-63 (TD)-9 8. Onterrio Smith, Oregon 182-936-5.1-57 (TD)-12 9. Cecil Sapp, Colo St 209-926-4.4-72 (TD)-12 10. KEYLON KINCADE, SMU 238-908-3.8-43-5 I think it's a very real possibility that with a strong finish - and we don't face the strongest defenses down the stretch - that Kincade could crack the top 5 rushers in the nation. Go PONIES!
Re: Looking for Troup32He's easily going to surpass 1,000 yds. When was the last time SMU had a 1k rusher, and was it this soon in the season? Keylon, YUH!
Re: Looking for Troup32The last SMU running back to crack 1,000 yards was Rodnick Phillips, who put up 1,115 yards in 1998. No idea what game he broke the barrier, though.
Incidentally, the school record for rushing yards in a season is 1,617 by The Great Eric Dickerson in 1982. If I can count (which is by no means guaranteed), Keylon needs 709 yards to tie the record, which would require him to average 177.25 yards per game in the remaining four games of the season. That, to say the least, is a tall order. At his current average of 113.5 yards per game, he would finish the season with 1,362 yards this season, which would put him in third place on the school's all-time single-season rushing list. Dickerson's 1,617 yards in 1982 are the record, followed by Dickerson's 1,428 yards in 1981. Fountain of youth

Re: Looking for Troup32Keylon was truly blessed for ShanD missing the season. However, as you know, Bennett doesn't like rotating backs. Next year Bennett will have Keylon, ShanD, and Barnett available to him. Hopefully, he can utilize each back's strenghts. Keylon just doesn't have breakaway speed like ShanD and Barnett. I think ShanD has the talent of any back in the nation. Keylon runs HARD and with so much heart. He leads the nation in carries and broke the record for carries in a game that we passed 30 times. I see a great team next year, especially if we really have found a playmaker in Bartel. We need some depth in a few more positions, and Bennett is doing a good job of recruiting those positions early on. My god, the only thing we've been lacking the past 6 years has been an offense. We could be a Top 50 team and a regular conference champ. contender. Gahhhh!! I just wish everything would come together already.
Re: Looking for Troup32Bennett doesn't like to rotate backs? How do you know that? It's not like he's had that option this year. With Charles hurt and Briggs fumbling woes, let's just be thankful Keylon has proven himself to be a workhorse.
Look for things to be different next year, with a more mature offensive line that might actually go 2-deep and with more running backs in the stable, I would look for Bennett to spread more carries around and allow these guys to have more energy for the 4th quarter.
Re: Looking for Troup32How do I know? First off, he's repeatedly said in media interviews that he does not like to rotate backs in the game. Secondly, let's just say I used to work closely with the team and I happen to know the coaching staff's philosophy better than you
