Where's ShanD?

Where is ShanD? I thought he was the next great SMU RB. I haven't heard that he has been injured (maybe he has); did Kincade just beat him out on the depth chart.
P.S. Was the rookie RB Barnett redshirted?

ShanD has a bad back, and probably is out for the year. But yes, Kincade beat him out for the job at the beginning of the year.
Barnett is redshirting, but I've heard that while running for the scout team, he's giving our first-team defense fits every day. The word from practices is that Barnett is going to be a very special runner for the Ponies.
Barnett's also a big piece of Coach Bennett's recruiting plan. He reportedly was instrumental in convincing DE Desmond Jones to commit for next year, and rumor has it there are more Carter kids heading our way!

Good to know that there'll be good RBs next year.
Did ShanD redshirt his freshman year, or can he use this year as a redshirt year?

Nope. ShanD was busy breaking records as a true freshman. Hopefully he can redshirt this year, although he did have quite a few snaps earlier in the season. Does anyone know for sure??

I believe he has played too much to redshirt this year.
Perhaps PX knows the breakdown of the rules?

I believe I read that they were going to try to get him a medical redshirt this year.

ShanD is still suffering some pain from his back injury. During practices earlier in the season he looked sluggish and was complaining of pain after practically every snap. It was wise on the coaching staff's part to bench him and try for a redshirt. He only took snaps in I believe 2 games. Haven't heard any info. on the progress of the redshirt however. As far as Barnett is concerned, he is a QUICK runner with great vision. In practice he really does give the first-team defense fits. Glad he redshirted, but with ShanD out, he could have easily taken his place. He's a lot smaller than Kincaid, about the same height as ShanD, but smaller. He'll be a real threat out of the backfield next season along with Keylon and ShanD. For now, I just hope Keylon and Bartel can keep that new offense of ours rolling
