for being a Tech fan, but I'm a new member here- hoping to have good conversations regarding the upcomming year. How excited are you all? We're very excited about the season being around the corner, practice begins on Aug. 7 for TT. Hope plenty of SMU fans will make the trip to Lubbock. If you do, just to let you know, there tons of places to hang out and have a beer with other fans around town. For some reason, most visiting fans seem to meet at a place called Bleachers. If some of you do, you'll enjoy it.

Anyways, just wanted to say hey.

Welcome aboard, TD! Glad to have you on PonyFans.com.
Can't speak for everyone, of course, but a lot of us are very excited about the upcoming season, starting with the game in Lubbock. What do you expect from the Red Raiders this year? Strengths/weaknesses?

Welcome! I was just in Lubbock a week ago; the new facade on the one side of Jones Stadium was very nice. When are you guys going to renovate the rest of the stadium?

And LF68, that sig is nice!

We're pretty excited for the season, but we could lose just one game, or lose as many as 4. Everyone is excied about our qb- which seems to favor GH.

I would say our strength is our front seven. We have a few seniors, as well as talent coming in who will be in the rotation. Our weakness so far seems to be our secondary. While we have talent, they are very inexperienced. Some of our fans are holding their breath about our OL, also.

Calallen- there is talk going around that we could hear a huge announcement before the end of July. Hopefully starts after the season. In the plans are additional seating on the north and south ends of the stadium, a garage, and an upper deck.(which I want more than anything.)I think the announcement will let us know which are being targeted first.

Anyways guys, thanks for the warm welcome. I want to hear about your season.

Aw, nobody hates you, LF68. But did you see there's some kind of filth on the Mustang in your sig? Wanted to let you know, so you can get it cleaned/re-designed.

Heh. I'm probably gonna make myself a t-shirt with something similar on it to wear to Nawlins.

My Texas Tech alum husband has already told me that he could stomach a loss to SMU if it means they win the rest of their games. I told him to make sure that happens then.

I'll be in Lubbock, along with my dad and step mom cheering for the Ponies right behind the SMU bench about 15 rows up. Then I'll be in Lubbock a couple of more times during the season to cheer for the Raiders whenever SMU doesn't have a home game & Tech does.

Looking forward to those drives through Olney -- home of the One Arm Dove Hunt.
