I'm looking for an older SMU football helmet, preferably from when Don Meredith played for us. Anyone know where I can get one or have one they'd trade/sell?
If not, I suppose any SMU helmet, need it a little quick.
Appreciate any help

I can't help you out, but why do you need it? Just curious...

Are you looking for one of that style or one from that era? Meredith wore a single bar suspension helmet which would cost a pretty penny to get.

I am an autograph/memorobilia collector and Meredith is doing a private signing later this month (NOT cheap), thought it would be my last chance to have something signed by him
I'd love to get an old style SMU helmet to send in to get signed

Go on ebay. I have seen plenty of fullsize helmets, plus mini helmets. Usually someone has a white helmet or a current helmet for sale. I have never seen any older helmets though. There is some white ones and and current helmet for sale now. They are kind of pricey.

There is a small store on Hillcrest about two doors north of Goff's that had some flags last year that were pretty cool. They were large size (maybe 3'x5') and were similar to the Texas flag except instead of a lone star, it had a running red mustang.

Yeah, I like the first one as well. The 2nd one says it's similar to what is flying at the College Football Hall of Fame...if so, Orsini's next order of business is to redesign that flag to look more like the 1st one and have the College Football Hall of Fame replace their flag.

Will check that out - would rather support a local store than some place off the internet.

I remember seeing those last December. What is the name of that store?

Wish I could help you on that, but I'm coming up blank on the name. If you're in town and on Hillcrest, it won't be hard to find. Like I said, it is just a couple of doors north of Goff's. I'll try to run by on my way home today and get the name for you.

McCartney's on Hillcrest. If they don't have what you want, they'll make you one. SMU Bookstore has a couple of different ones... they hide them toward the back on the cap wall.
