This is paraphrasing, because I don't type that fast.

(First question: quarterback situation?)
Phil Bennett:
One of the things you look at with this team, we do have an area of inexperience at quarterback. But we look at it like we've got three guys who we think can do the job. Justin Willis had a very good spring, and he's a redshirt freshman. We also have Corey Slater, a JuCo guy, and Eric Johnson, who's another redshirt freshman.

(Question about DeMyron Martin not playing in opener against Baylor)
Bennett:
I'm first to admit my mistakes, and that's one of them. DeMyron fumbled three times in practice Thursday before the Baylor game. I asked my running backs coach if he was willing to put his job on the line, and I nobody wants to do that, so we didn't play him. (Paraphrase: Yes, Martin will play in the opener this year.)

(Question about finishing strong in 2005, with three straight wins down the stretch)
Joe Sturdivant:
There's definitely a belief factor with this team. It doesn't matter who we're going to face. We're all Div-I atheltes and we're all on Div-I teams. We feel like we can compete with anyone we play.

Bennett:
When I took this job, I knew it would get worse before it got better. The thing I regret is that guys like Joey and Reynaldo had to play as freshmen, and that wasn't fair to them. They should be redshirt juniors now.
I remember in the Houston game, when (UH) came back and took the lead, I remember watching our offense -- there was an expectancy that we'd go down and score. I thought then that this team was turning a corner.

(Question about having a redshirt freshman QB)
Rey Pellerin:
Justin Willis -- he wasn't here when we went 0-12. We all went through that. We've got some guys, other receivers like Bobby Chase, working with him. Even though he's a freshman, we have to take him under our wing, because he has to (make plays/get the job done/step up/something like that).

(Question about new athletic director Steve Orsini)
Bennett:
One of things I love about Steve: when he speaks, he talks the same language as me: top 25. He's not afraid to say that, and we need it. Jim Copeland was great, he did a wonderful job, but Steve has the vision to sell that idea to our alumni, and we're going to need that.

(Question about whether a bowl game is the goal)
Bennett:
There's a lot of parity in this league, and the team that stays healthy has best chance, but yes, it's our expectancy is to go to a bowl game and win a championship.

OK, so I missed a couple. But that was the basic idea. Pretty short interview.
