Some of you will remember this computer system that predicts the season, this year they have SMU at 9-3, finishing 2nd in the west.
Here is how they have done in the past in predicting our seasons since 2000.
Projected Actual Record
2000 3-9 3-9
2001 4-7 4-7
2002 4-8 3-9
2003 4-8 0-12
2004 3-8 3-8
2005 8-3 5-6

Does the computer indicate which games are 'W's and which games are 'L's?

another interesting tid bit -
They have a user poll on who would win CUSA west,
265 voters said UTEP would win, we were 2nd in votes with 148 votes followed by houston with 107.
That means other people think we have a shot of winning cuz we don't even have 148 fans.

It sure screwed up in 05.
Lets hope it's right in 06. I'm surprised about people us for 2nd though. Most everyone I've talked to about predictions and such just come back to me and say "It's SMU".

Well, we are 8-3 with our near misses.
Again, the question becomes, are we a 5-6 team lthat was simply ucky to beat Hou and UAB...
...or a 5-6 that should beaten Marshall and Baylor, and could have beaten Tulsa.
We are trending upwards over the past 7 games, and are a .500 team over the last 14.
Who knows, but playing 3 easy non-conference games instead of aTm and Baylor (substitute Tech for TCU) should help with Justin's development...in other words, we SHOULD win those games regardless with our experienced line and Demyron M.
BTW, Tulsa started a redshirt freshman last year.

Well, I don't predict 9-3 (not sure exactly what I predict, but not that high), but I WILL predict that we're not losing at home to Tulsa this year. Our athletes are every bit as good as theirs, Willis and the young secondary will be much more comfortable by that late in the season, and we'll have a bowl bid on the line.
SMU 27
Tulsa 16

This computer also predicts that we will end up ranked #40 in the nation which is five spots ahead of Florida State.

The DMN story of the QB prospects have almost made a believer out of me. IF we ever generate a scoring offense, then SMU truly can be a 9-3 team, but I am expecting 7-5 or maybe 8-4.
