14 minutes of practice

Had to run an errand and while I was away from work - some how my car ended up at the SMU practice field. Only saw about 15 minutes but it was the best 15 minutes of my day.....
Nothing really to report, Willis and Slater were alternating throws - Willis did not seemed to be bothered by his foot, of course I only saw him throw and trot around the field.
Demyron was not suited up, he was over with the RB's helping out, but not running. Guess they are just waiting to use his knees come Saturday.
I can't wait.....

I imagine they're taking it slow with Willis and his foot, since today is his first day back on the field after having the WART FROM HELL removed. I saw him earlier today and asked about it, and he just said "feels great, it's not going to be a problem."
Go get 'em, Justin. BEAT TECH!

Without the Wart problem, I sure hope he can play like he was playing during the spring Saturday.

I saw a couple minutes of practice but got there late. The team looks pretty big and athletic. I think it's going to be a good game this Saturday.

I am worried about Martin. Somebody tell me I shouldn't be worried about Martin. He better not have a nagging knee injury all year.

As long as we don't have to call him "DeTerrell", we'll be fine.

Per the dmn blog -
"Latest from SMU practice
This just in from SMU beat writer Calvin Watkins:
DeMyron Martin, a sophomore from Allen HS, did not practice today because of an abcessed tooth. The big highlight of practice was head coach Phil Bennett getting stung by a bee (on his calf)."
WTF - Warts, Tendinitis, Abcessed Tooth, bee stings.......

per the DMN college Blog:
"Need something to do in Lubbock
After Saturday night's clash between Texas Tech and SMU, I'm looking for something to do in Lubbock. I've been there once, when Bobby Knight threw the salad at the president, a few years ago. I stayed three days, went to Fox 'N Hound and ate at the hotel.
Looking for some help in this area.
As for the game, well SMU should be competitive this go-round, but for all the talk about the Mustangs starting a redshirt freshman at quarterback, Justin Willis, cornerback is an issue. Devin Lowery, a converted receiver, makes his debut at left corner. And Jonathan Lindley makes his first start at right corner. How those two handle Tech's receivers will be a key."
per mr calvin watkins.

Yeah, the secondary is a big question mark, although I believe the personnel is okay, just the experience...
