...appears initial appeals have been denied and Tech is appealing again. Hicks is one of Tech's AllAmerica Candidate superstars after catching about 150 passes over the last two years. Crabtree was one of their top recruits who was moving up their depth chart and is currently 2nd on the Depth Chart behind Hicks.

this is not a rumor as Leach, the DMN and Tech's Rival site have confirmed they are appealing the ineligibility ruling

I'm excited, apparently we are the only two (I'm assuming you're happy Stallion).

Two is the loneliest number...

Count me in among the excited.

I bet Coach Bennett, Coach Gush, Jonathan Lindley, Devin Lowery and Bryan McCann aren't crying themselves to sleep, either.

Go PONIES!

I hope they throw the book at them.

By throw the book, I mean postpone reviewing the appeal until Monday morning.

While the loss of Hicks and Crabtree sucks for Tech, WR is the ONE position they could afford to take a hit.
They still have Filani (Playboy All-American), Robert Johnson (Big 12 Newcomer of the Year) and a healthy Danny Amendola.
Their backups are awesome.
Don't see this doing too much for the Ponies.

how do you not miss a receiver with 150 odd catches over 28 TD and over 2,000 yards receiving in 2 seasons. Tech is extremely deep at WR but it was the triumphrate of Robert Johnson, Filani and Hicks against our untested CBs that was really a mismatch and would make it difficult to double team.

Stallion, I'm not diminishing Hicks' importance, but trust me: Tech is just fine at receiver.
And unfortunately, we'll see that on Saturday.
Amendola's healthy and good, LA Reed and Todd Walker are studs, and watch out for Adrian Reese.

Falani is still someone to worry about, but this is promising news.

Not to pick nits, but I think the word you were looking for was "triumvirate".

How many players/starters did Tech lose to grades this year?

They're out.
I hear the chance of winning an appeal is beyond remote.

Because of what esle we have. Hicks will be missed against Colorado, Texas, and Oklahoma, maybe a couple of others. But Todd Walker, Grant Walker, LA Reed, or Chris Cunigan is enough in the rest of the games.
