Keeping you up to date on what's going on with the best conference in the country. Whether you like it or not, I will be updating these games when they go final. Overall, not a very challenging opening weekend. The tests will come next week when Ohio State goes to Texas, Minnesota goes to California and Penn State goes to Notre Dame.

Thursday
Minnesota 44, Kent State 0 F
Northwestern 21, Miami (Ohio) 3 F

Saturday
Michigan 27, Vanderbilt 7
Illinois 42, Eastern Illinois 17
Iowa 41, Montana 7
Michigan State 27, Idaho 17
Penn State 34, Akron 16
Ohio State 35, Northern Illinois 12
Wisconsin 35,Bowling Green 14
Purdue 65, Indiana State 30
Indiana 39, Western Michigan 20

This is a year of decision for Michigan State coach John L. Smith. Not impressive at all. Purdue's defense is horrible. Michigan has to play better.

Stay tuned for next week for the Sept. 9 edition with complete schedule and analysis.

Big ten is the fourth best - maybe the fifth best conference. It is ALWAYS over-rated. you could get rich just waiting around for the inter-conference games and betting vs the big ten with whatever spread exists.

1 - SEC
2- Big 12
3 - Pac 10

after that it really does not matter

You had me until you threw the PAC 10 in there. The ACC will be better than the PAC 10 because of depth. The PAC 10 really falls off after the 3rd or 4th place team.

the new ACC overall is far better than the PAC 1

UT vs. Little 10

UT beat Michigan and OSU. The Big 12 owns the Little 10 at least until 9/9/06.

Didn't the Big 10 win its two BCS games last year? And wasn't the Big 10 the only conference to put two teams in BCS last year? And how did the ACC and SEC representatives do in their BCS games?

SEC? Eff the SEC AND the Big 10+1.

The Big 12 is better.
