MWC possibilities

I was disappointed when Copeland said, in effect, we want to stick with Tulsa and Rice to get into CUSA.
Is the new AD going to change directions?
Perhaps we need to have MWC as a goal. TCU was mighty impressive tonight. Why aren't we on par with them? We had a much better program all though the 60s until the DP.

Yep since I want my team traveling to Utah instead of freakin Houston where I could've attended the game.

Yea right. How much exactly have you had to drink tonight davish?

TCU does better in the MWC than they did in CUSA. Even without Louisville, the CUSA is a good mid-level conference and matches up with the MWC fairly well. Besides, we want a schedule in our time zone (except for El Paso). Now pop another one.

Why aren't we on par with TCU? Hmmm...that would take a long lengthy explanation. I'll give you a few - administration, better recruiting, dedication to winning, admissions, transfer hours, athletic friendly majors, a supporting alumni and community....should I go on?

Let's jump into bed with six schools that have hosed us in the past, TCU, Wyoming, BYU, AFA, Utah, CSU that sounds like a wonderful idea. And while we're at it, the Big XII would even be nicer where we can hang out with classier whores.

No one really answered my main question. What is the strategic thinking of the new AD?

Get butts in seats and win - Top 25 program. We still have a long way to go and need to recruit much better.

While I don't particularly care for being in the same conference with some of the CUSA East teams (East Carolina, UAB), leaving the conference for MWC isn't going to put us on the level of TCU. It won't even help.

Give me the regional rivalries we have with CUSA West schools over games in Laramie in November.

Once again I have to laugh as this type of post has come up before. "Top 25 in all sports" is a result not a Plan. This was one of my biggest gripes with Copeland who had no Plan whatsoever. Orsini gets a pass because he just got here. Looks like he's implementing his Plan with the personnel changes. But SMU hasn't had a Plan to on how it can realistically compete at a superior level in 20 years. I'm not sure anybody in the last administration-knew what needed to be done.
