Attendance Issues

What should we expect for our D-1AA SHSU game? I am gonna guess about 3-4k, esp. since we fired the only person who did any marketing on the campus. I would guess we will be lucky to draw 32k for the whole home season now.

We need a new football stadium so we can recruit better.

Orsini has a little problem on his hands. Needs fans in the stands and needs to win...both of which seem extremely difficult.

I think this is probably the worst loss since the Death Penalty. We were crapped on by the Sun Belt geographical rival.

well, we know that SMU's die hard 1500 will be there to suffer through another football season. Attendance on the Blvd should run a little stronger than that number. SHSU will be the key, as has been the case for years here at SMU...how many will the visitors bring? One thing is certain...the announced attendance will be significantly higher than what you will observe in the stands.

It will remind me to the Bosie State game several years ago. They had the number at 10,000. I could'nt even see 500.

hope you're right, Peruna. Surely SMU can draw 15-16,000 for a home opener REGARDLESS of who we play or what our record is coming in. I thought about attending this one, but just closed on a new home and will be moving this weekend. Hope to have the computer ready to pick up the game by 8:00 eastern time

Less than 10K

I predict actual attendance to be under 10K. Ticket sales might be higher since there is a 4500 season ticket base. The UNT loss has killed the gate.

Wins and losses, as always, will dictate attendance. But we'll have a decent (although certainly not packed) crowd for the opener.

I was there for the Nevada Parents Weekend game when maybe 2-3k were there (2002-2003).
