SMU's Worst Loss?

Article by Gerry Fraley in tomorrow's DMN:

Hard to disagree with anything in the article. I came away with two thoughts:

1. Bennett has no idea how to coach a team to a win. He is a defensive coordinator at best.

2. Orsini is pissed, and if we aren't 2-2 Bennett may be gone.

I do believe this is Bennett's worst loss as SMU's coach, and that's saying a lot after going 0-12 and getting blown out by underdog Navy in his opener, not to mention getting blown out by Rice.

Fraley definitely nailed it. It is good to see someone in the media finally say what many here have been saying...when you have bigger and faster and stronger players yet still play a game as sorry as that you have to look at the coaching.

Good to see him point out to the uniformed how our special teams and offense are a joke and how the players seem to be undisciplined. Geez if anyone in the country needs a special teams coach, you figure it would be SMU.

So did a bunch of ponyfans over the last month. Is it too early to go back through the season prediction thread??

I vote for Fraley to be president (not of the USA, silly). But would he take a pay cut to run SMU?

From what I hear, he (along with Kevin Blackistone) are accepting the buyout offer from Belo to leave the DMN....so he's available.

I don't think Bennet has a chance anymore. I think the UNT game was the final chance and he blew it. He won't be with us by season's end unless he pulls of not only wins, but miracle wins. We would need to blow out the next 2 opponents for it to be evident that UNT was a fluke.
