From Monday's DMN:

Returner breaks Doak Walker's record

UNIVERSITY PARK – Senior Cody Cardwell's 169 yards on six punt returns at UT-El Paso on Saturday broke the single-game SMU mark Doak Walker set in 1945 with 138 yards at Texas A&M. Cardwell also became the SMU season record holder in punt-return yardage with 467.

Briefly ...
Senior cornerback Kevin Garrett, who missed three games with a sprained knee, returned Saturday and had three tackles. ... Redshirt freshman Don Ieremia-Stansbury continued to play well since being moved from backup linebacker to starting defensive end four games ago. He had four tackles, two batted passes and a fumble recovery against his hometown team, UT-El Paso.

I'm glad KG will be able to play his final game at home. Hope he shoots up the charts of NFL teams and has a long, glorious professional career.

Vic Viloria is done. His shoulder stinger/pinched nerve is too serious to risk coming back this quickly. He has played his last game for SMU, but will be on the field when the seniors are honored.
