These are SHST's I-AA placement and stats, out of 116 teams
Rushing Offense 46 145
Passing Offense 5 294
Total Offense 7 439
Scoring Offense 9 41
Rushing Defense 22 85
Pass Efficiency Defense 1 21.63
Total Defense 5 138
Scoring Defense 6 3
Net Punting 13 38
Punt Returns 26 12.5
Kickoff Returns 1 51
Turnover Margin 1 4
Pass Defense 3 53
Passing Efficiency 7 168.13
Sacks 67 1
Tackles For Loss T-21 7
Sacks Allowed 1 0
Sagarin has us less that a half point better that SHST by far our weakest opponent. That would make us about a four point favorite at home.

Took the words right out of my mouth, blog. However, the Bearkats are coming into this contest fired up about the chances of making more national news by knocking off a Div. 1-A team a la Montana State v Colorado last week.

Oh, no doubt. SHSU is absolutely looking at this game as an opportunity, as they well should. But the point is their statistics and their rankings are not an accurate reflection of where they rank in I-AA.

Of where we rank in I-AA? hmmm, I know yall are trying to forget, but we are just two years removed from a semifinal appearance in the I-AA playoffs.

89: That was 2 years ago. Last year the 'Kats sucked. The game this Saturday will be the true test of how far the Bearkats have come since last year's 3-8 team under head coach Todd Whitten.
