• Bennett is backing off some statements made earlier in the year about reaching a bowl game. Bennett is a little touchy on the subject when it was brought up today. He said he doesn't want to talk about bowl games anymore.
• The offense is in sad shape, averaging only 4.5 points a game. Bennett seem offended when asked was coordinator Rusty Burns going to move to the press box and call plays. Bennett said Burns will remain on the field to call plays.
Interesting.
• Bennett also said he's not in on offensive meetings. Last year, he sat in most of them and then toward the end of the year stayed out of the meetings. I asked him if he was going back in the offensive meetings and he said no.
Sunday, I was in the football office and I couldn't find Bennett. The defensive coaches were in their offices and said Bennett was meeting with the offensive coaches.
When I asked Bennett about this, he denied it and said I needed to get my facts straight.
Cool. No problem with that.
I'm off to practice to see who becomes the starting running back.

so now you've outed yourself to PB. If he reads the board, I wonder what kind of response you'll get from him the next time he realizes the question is being asked by someone calling themselves "PhirePhilBennett"

I'm no expert on college football so hopefully one of ya'll can answer this for me. Is it common for random fans to just hang out in college football coaches offices?

After listening to the press conference, one feels sorry for the person posing the questions to PB...
Sounds like Coach B is PISSED at Calvin...."just like when you screwed up in some article somebody gave me...you need to get your facts straight."
Phil is also really thirsty in the press conference...going to the styrofoam cup 20 times.
Things getting edgy?
Even the usual "we need to do a better job of coaches not putting the kids in a bad situation" sounded strained.
Oh, and btw...if SMU does as Phil says it needs to and "kicks, scratches, claws, bites" for a win, that'll be 15 yds., 15 yds., 15 yds., and 15 yds, probably all on an otherwise big play for SMU.

I thought the same thing. Boy, that observation would have p*ssed him off - since we had about three personal foul penalties at UNT, didn't we?

PPB is apparently either Calvin Watkins or a plagerist. Read the blog.

I just posted what was already on the BeloBlog, jeez.
And, actually, have never seen Cybil, but know the connotations alluded to.

My guess is PPB copied and pasted Calvin's blog. They way PB accosted Calvin in the press conference, however, I thought I was watching this interview with a head coach:

Having said that, I think Colorado deserves it more than we do...
