He won't start for awhile. My OU friends say they are going to put all blame on him and ruin his college career.

Of course they are ponyfans so take that with a grain of salt

They should blame him. He is the starting QB for arguably one of the biggest programs in college football, and risks it for what? A little extra cash? Sorry, that is the biggest case of inability to delay gratification since Stallion's um, you know, um problem with premature, well um, you know.

Seriously, Bomar is a chump, and his parents should kick his back end up between his shoulders regardless of whether OU had any institutional blame or not.

He takes some money, but two UT football players, one starter get arrested for weed and carrying a gun and they get one game? Taking money is wrong, but the NCAA priorities are definitely in the wrong place.

I believe Phillip Daughtery former Tech QB is starting now that that the starter Pate is hurt. While not quite in the class of Bomar he had more offers than probably our last 5 QB signess put together. He'll be throwing to former Tech WR catron Houstopn-I expect a quality passing game from the Monument. Seriously, the Father our our state has some quality football players. The difference in talent is really not as big as I believe some think it is.

After Saturday, I agree completely with your last statement, Stallion.
This one makes me very, very nervous as well.

SHSU can move the ball and score. NCAA number 106/115 can't (that's SMU offensive stats). Guess what could happen in such a game.

Sam Houston played Houston last year and bowl bound UH won only by 31-10.

add WR transfer from Virgina Tech who had a big game last week, a WR Transfer from Kansas St, add two Offensive Lineman transfers from Missouri-one is 6-7, 305. Add another top Texas recruit in Billy Skinner who transferred back from BYU after moving from WR. A DE transfer from Iowa St. Don't see how we can really take these guys lightly averaging 4.5 points per game and w/o Martin. Add another kid from Andrew McKinney's high school Decatur named Christian who I believe SMU recruited until signing date.

SMU defeated UH, too, my friend.

I like Willis OK, but how does I-AA SHSU have 6-3, 220 lb. backup quarterback that got a scholarship to Tech?

Those facts sound eerily like those in the article in the Albuquerque Journal after UNM lost to Portland State. Portland State's D-Line had transfers from Washington, Oregon, UCLA, and some other PAC-10 school.

And how in the world did SMU lose a recruiting battle with SHSU that wasn't grades-related?

to RGV & mr. pony: Perhaps it's because Sam Houston State has advanced through the Div. 1-AA playoffs quite a few times in recent years; most recently (2004) to the semi-final game. The Bearkats are almost always competitive!
